Product information
The Smit Rotterdam is one of the world's largest ocean-going tugs, and has been operated by the SMITWIJS shipping company since 1975. The vessel was designed specifically for towing oil drilling platforms and immobilised ships. Some of the missions carried out by the Smit Rotterdam and her sister-ship the Smit London have been spectacular, with the result that thevessel has become very well-known all over the maritime world. The model expands the unique GRAUPNER PREMIUM line - a range of extremely high-quality ready-made model boats. To achieve this elevated quality the boat's hull is moulded in strong GRP, while the superstructure consists of laser-cut wooden and ABS parts. The model also features a large number of small metal items, all ready-madeand factory-installed. The hull, superstructure components, masts and fittings feature a sprayed finish using silk-matt paints, and the decals are already applied. The boat's many detail features and fittings give it a particularly convincing scale appearance. Installation of the RC components is a fast, straightforward task thanks to the three generous deck openings. To prepare the model ready for runningall you have to do is install the RC system components and the drive battery; complete a small number of soldered joints, and the boat is ready for the water.
